In
the Field of Technical education Orissa has seen a substantial growth
from 1 engineering college in 1956 to 105 Engineering colleges in 2010.
At present Orissa state has 2 Centrally funded institutions, 8 State
government funded Engineering institutions, 92 Self –financed engineering
institutions & 2 Deemed universities & 1 State Private University.
The
student enrollment in Engineering Education has gone up from 250 to45,000
But it is still less than the national average .So state of Orissa has
to see further growth in Technical education in means of number of Colleges
and intake.
